One of my favorite book series is the series of Harry Potter. My 2nd favorite series is Twilight. My favorite book of Harry Potter is “Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire.” One of my favorite non-fiction books is called “Brown girl dreaming” by Jacqueline Woodson. Another great book in my opinion is called “Auggie and Me.” “Ugly” by Robert Hoge is also a great book which is also very inspiring. Another good book is called “My life as a book” its very entertaining and funny. This are the top books I’ve enjoyed reading so far this year.

I am currently reading “New Moon”, which is the second book of the series Twilight. One of the main characters is named Isabella Swan, also known as Bella. Bella looses her balance once in a while and let’s just say P.E. is not her thing. Bella is in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen. Edward is another of the main characters. Edward is a vampire which he is part of a family named the Cullen’s. Every person who doesn’t know that Edward and his family are vampires, think that his whole family is adopted. Anyways, Bella is very pretty and she and Edward are in love with each other. In this book Edward and his family left because they think Bella is better off without Edward and even safer. But Bella and Edward are falling apart without seeing each other. Bella is a normal human but Edward Cullen is not, he is a vampire.

I am currently reading “My life as a Book.” The main character of the book is Derek Fallon. Derek is 12 years old but he hates to read. In the book the teachers and his parents are working very hard to get him to read. He doesn’t care about getting work done, like its summer in the book and he has to read and finish some books, but he is just joking around. His parents had no choice but to send him to learning camp, which ruins his summer plans. He is also very creative. When Derek needs to explain his vocabulary words he just draws them and explains what the words mean in the drawing. As you can tell Derek is a very special kid.

I am reading “Lost in the Sun.” My main character is Trent. Trent might seem confident, but he really isn’t. Trent is scared of going into middle school because last year he accidentally killed one of his teammates, Jared Richards. Trent hit the hockey puck at a bad angle and -whack-, Trent hit Jared right in the chest and died. Jared was standing were he wasn’t supposed to be standing anyways, but still…Trent killed Jared Richards. So anyways, Trent is scared for 6th grade because he doesn’t want anyone to remember the accident and he wants a fresh start to 6th grade. Sooner or later he will realize that their is always another chance to start fresh.

I am currently reading “The Secret Language of Sisters.” The setting takes place on Connecticut beach in Long Island Sound. Both girls love the beach. But one text, one accident will change everything forever. All this occurs when Ruth Ann (Roo) McCabe responds to a text message while driving the car. Her sister  Mathilda (Tilly) was the one who send her the text message. She was desperate to go home, she was waiting for her sister, Roo to pick her up from a museum. But when Roo tries to answer the text message the car flips and she winds up in the hospital, paralyzed, in a coma. Everyone thinks she is in a coma, but Roo has locked-in syndrome, Roo can hear and understand everything around her but no one knows it. Roo And Tilly are trying to stay alive and solve the mystery.

I finished “Just my luck” a couple days ago and I loved this book. This book is very interesting and it made me feel weird cause each event has a different feeling. Like when Benny can’t ride his bike even if he is in fourth grade. Benny feels bad about himself because even his brother George who is Autistic can ride a bike and can do awesome tricks with it. Its also made me feel kinda shocked when Benny bumps his head with his dads head while trying to ride his bike. Because of that accident his Dad fainted later that day and hits his head in the floor. It turned out his dad had an aneurysm, which means a blood vessel started leaking in his brain. After the accident, his dad got back home but he was having a hard time remembering things. Now Benny is scared of riding his bike again but, his dad has been insisting to do it again with him by his side. Benny is scared though cause he doesn’t want another accident all over again.

Queen Elizabeth I

Queen Elizabeth I was one of England’s greatest monarchs. But, she had problems along the way. She found many solutions to solve the many problems through her reign.

Many people disagreed with a women being a ruler. In “Queen Elizabeth I” there is a quote from John Knox that says “It is more than a monster in nature that a women should reign and bear empire over man.” This shows that in the sixteenth-century many people did not like having women as rulers. Queen Elizabeth I protected England from invasion and earned the people’s respect. Queen Elizabeth I did not care what people said and she proved herself worthy.

Many people, including Parliament urged Elizabeth I to get married and produce a royal heir. If Elizabeth I, had married a foreign nobleman it could lead to, conflict and if she had married an English nobleman it would cause infighting. In the article it states “Elizabeth I sacrificed her happiness for the good of the nation.” To solve the problem Queen Elizabeth I did not married to prevent conflict in England. Despite the fact that everybody was urging Elizabeth I to marry, she could not marry for the good of England.

Queen Elizabeth I solved many problems that she faced during her reign. Elizabeth did not produce a royal heir, so she appointed her cousin VI as the king of England.

The book I am reading is called “Restart.” The way I feel while reading this book is happy and other mixed emotions. I was kind of sad when Chase fell off the roof and got amnesia. He forgot everything within memories before the accident. I was nervous when he returned back to school but he couldn’t remember anything, not even his friends. I was happy when he noticed he changed for good and when he notice he was a big bully in his old life. This book was very exciting when he starts getting flashbacks of memories of falling off the roof and even memories that he had with other important people in his life. Now he notices that falling off the roof wasn’t a bad thing at all. It was a good thing to realize he was a big bully in his old life but has now changed for a new, fresh start.

I am currently reading ” Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.” This book is about Harry going into his Third year at Hogwarts. In the the Prison of Azkaban escaped a prisoner named Sirius Black. He is know for killing thirteen people with a single curse. Apparently, he said he was the heir apparent to the Dark Lord, Voldemort. Sirius black escaped. He left two clues to where he might be heading: To Hogwarts for harry potter and there was said they heard him muttering in his sleep. “He is at Hogwarts.” The Dementors are trying to catch him and Harry is trying to be brave. But Harry has a fear of the Dementors, every time he sees one he hears her mom yelling while Voldemort was murdering her, Her mother trying to save harry’s life. I am very interested in this book, hope i finish it.

The book that I am reading is called “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.” The main character of the book is Harry Potter. Harry Potter is very brave and much alike from his father, James Potter. In this book Harry demonstrated how brave he is by confronting the Dementors (evil life sucking ghouls) with a magical spell and for saving Sirius Black’s life. While doing the magical spell he thought he saw his father but it was actually him who he saw himself casting the spell. Harry is also very confident with himself, because everyone thought he wasn’t going to be able to confront the Dementors but it turns out he did, plus he saved Sirius Black which turns out was innocent. Sirius Black is the prisoner who escaped from the Azkaban prison which is highly secured. Sirius Black is blamed for killing 13 people with one single magical curse. It was said that Sirius Black escaped Azkaban to go kill Harry Potter but he really escaped to kill Pettigrew, who killed Harry’s Parents. Sirius wanted some kind of revenge for betraying his best friends who were James and Lily Potter and betrayed Sirius Black’s trust. This is the main character of this book, Harry Potter.
